Ripartites tricholoma (Fr.) Karsten Cap 2-5cm across, convex becoming flat then sunken in the center, with an incurved margin becoming radially lined with long, coarse hairs; white; tacky to dry with appressed silky hairs. Gills adnate, close, broad; white becoming dull pinkish cinnamon. Stem 25-50 x 3mm, hollow, fragile; whitish to dingy ochre-brown; faint bloom to suede-like. Flesh very soft; pallid. Odor slight, not mealy. Taste mild. Spores ovoid to subglobose, warted, 4-5 x 3.5-4µ. Deposit pale brown. Habitat on humus or very decayed wood in forests. Not common. Found in Europe and widely distributed in North America. Season August-November. Edibility not known -avoid.
