Phlogiotis helvelloides (Fr.) Mar. syn. Tremiscus helvelloides (DC ex Pers.) Donk. New syn. Guepinia helvelloides, Candied Red Jelly Fungus. Fruit body 2.5-10cm high, 4-6cm wide, funnel-shaped or spoon-shaped with a lobed margin; translucent pinkish white to deep rose or apricot; smooth or slightly wrinkled. Stem short, off-center. Flesh firm-gelatinous. Spores oblong to ellipsoid, 10-12 x 4-5µ. Deposit white. Habitat on rotting wood or on the ground under conifers. Found in Europe and widely distributed in North America, common in the Pacific Northwest. Season May-July, August-October. Said to be edible. |

This Phlogiotis Helvelloides was found somewhere in Austria close to the Village of Telfs in Tirol.
I think the picture is stunning!
