Hygrocybe unguinosa (Fr.) Karst. syn Hygrophorus unguinosus (Fr.) Fr. Grauer Saftling. Cap 2–4cm across, convex or bell-shaped, greyish brown, very shiny. Stem 4–60 x 3–6mm, concolorous with cap, slightly wavy and tapering towards the whitish base, very slimy. Flesh greyish. Taste mild, smell not distinctive. Gills adnate with a decurrent tooth, widely spaced but connected by veins, whitish. Spore print white. Spores broadly elliptical or oval, 7–8.5 x 4–5m. Habitat in short grass in pastures or open woodland. Season late autumn. Rare. Edibility unknown- avoid. Distribution, America and Europe.
