Conocybe tenera (Schaeff. ex Fr.) Kuhner. Zartes Samthaubchen Conocybe tendre Cap 1-3cm across, bluntly conical at first, expanding to bell-shaped; ochre-brown to cinnamon, drying more yellowish; dry, with fine lines, Gills adnate, crowded, narrow; whitish at first, then cinnamon brown. Stem 50-90 x 4-7mm, straight, becoming hollow, fragile; whitish flushed brownish with cap color; surface has a finely powdered appearance. Flesh thin, same color as cap. Odor mushroomy. Spores ovoid to ellipsoid, smooth, 9-14 x 5-8µ. Deposit bright yellow or reddish brown. Habitat scattered to numerous in grass in lawns, fields, and woods. Found widely distributed in North America and Europe. Season May-July, September. Not edible. |
