Fruit body resupinate, forming firm–gelatinous patches 1–13cm across below the bark, dingy lilac to pale flesh-coloured, slightly viscid and translucent when moist. Spores white, cylindric to sausage-shaped, 18–20 x 5–6um. Habitat beneath the bark on dead, often still attached, branches of deciduous trees. Season all year. Common but inconspicuous; most easily found by observing the characteristically rolled-back bark of the host. Not edible. Found In Europe. |
