Ramaria primulina Petersen Fruit body up to 15cm high, 8cm wide, up to 5 major ascending branches dividing into 3-6 ranks of smaller branches, terminating in stiff, thin, crowded tips divided into "fingers"; branches yellow, sometimes with a greenish tinge, tips bright, light yellow. Base up to 25 x 15mm, single, irregularly shaped, knobby; with numerous abortive branchlets; off-white; smooth becoming slippery in age. Flesh solid, mottled, gelatinous, becoming loosely gelatinous in age, translucent; off-white to pale yellow. Odor mealy, beanlike, or slightly aromatic. Taste mealy, faintly bitter. Spores ellipsoid, ornamented with scattered isolated warts, 9-12.2 x 4-4.7µ. Clamps present. Habitat on the ground in coniferous or mixed forests. Found in eastern North America. Season August-September. Edibility not known -avoid, many Ramarias can cause stomach upset.
