Microporellus dealbatus (Berk. & Curt.) Murr. syn. Polyporus dealbatus Berk. & Curt. Cap 2-10cm across, circular to kidney-shaped or fan-shaped; gray-brown to liver brown with numerous concentric zones of color; minutely velvety or scurfy-hairy. Tubes 1-4mm deep. Pores 6-7 per mm, angular, entire; flesh-colored, drying darker. Stem 50-70 x 5-l0mm, lateral or eccentric; same color as cap; drying hard and rigid. Flesh tough, drying very hard; white. Spores ellipsoid to broadly ellipsoid, smooth, 5-6 x 4-5ľ. Habitat on the ground, probably attached to buried wood. Very common. Found in southeastern North America. Season] June-September. Not edible.
