Micromphale foetidum ([Sow.] Fr.) Sing. syn. Marasmius foetidus (Sow.) Fr. Stinkender-Schwindling Foetid Parachute. Some authors now place this fungus in Marasmiellus. Cap 1–3cm across, convex then expanded and slightly depressed at the centre, thin, membranous, pliant, dingy reddish-buff with darker centre and persistent radiating furrows. Stem 10–25 x 1–2mm, tough, tapering towards the base, dark brown to black, velvety. Flesh very thin, concolorous. Smell fetid. Gills distant, connected by veins, clay-pink. Spore print white. Spores pip-shaped, 8–10 x 3–4um. Habitat gregarious on fallen twigs of deciduous trees, especially hazel and beech. Season late summer to early winter. Uncommon. Not edible. Found In Europe.
