Clavaria fragilis Clavaire vermiclée White Spindles Fruit body 6–12cm high, 3–5mm wide, white, simple, in dense tufts, becoming flattened and grooved; very brittle. Spores white, ellipsoid 5–7 x 3–4µ. Habitat in fields and grassy places. Season autumn. Rare. Edible but of no interest. Distribution, America and Europe. |

The description of this fungus says that it is rare. I have many clumps of them growing in my garden in Dover, Kent, UK every year. This was taken on 22 Nov 09.
