Clavaria fumosa Fr.Rauchgraue Keule Clavaire fumeuse Smoky Spindles. Fruit body 1.5–14cm high, 1.5–7mm wide, whitish, pale mouse-grey or fuliginous, simple fusiform or spindle-shaped in dense tufts, often twisted; brittle. Spores white, ellipsoid, 5–8×3–4µ. Habitat usually amongst grass, in open situations. Season autumn. Not edible. Distribution, America and Europe.
