Dichomitus campestris (Quél.) Dom. & Orlicz syn. Trametes campestris (Quél.) Astporling. Fruit body resupinate, convex, cushion-like, 2–12cm across, pale at first becoming yellowish or brownish, finally staining dark brown to black throughout. Tubes sometimes in 2–6 layers (in perennial fruit bodies), 3–10mm long. Pores 1–2 per mm, circular-angular, often irregular. Spores thin-walled, ellipsoid-cylindric, 9–12.5 x 3.5–4.5µ. Habitat on thin, dead branches of deciduous trees. Season autumn, annual or sometimes perennial. Rare – known only from Scotland. Not edible. Found In Europe. |
