Amanita jacksonii Pomerleau, formally refered to as America Amanita caesaria and other names. Cap 80-120mm. strong bright red, with marked striations. Stem 80-140 x 10-15mm., yellow or orange, marked with lighter patches, with a distinct floppy ring. The volva is lage and firm when young later floppy.Gills yellow or with a hint of orange. Spores white 7.5-10 x 5.8-7.5 (8.5)um. Found in wastern Canada and easten USA., in oak and pine woods. |
