Geoglossum cookeianum Nannfeldt Fruit body 37cm high, 0.51cm wide, black, smooth, flattened club-shaped tapering into the narrower stalk. Asci 18020. Paraphyses elongated terminally in a short chain of almost globose to barrel-shaped segments up to 8 wide. Spores brown, subcylindric, seven-septate, 509057. Habitat in grassland especially on sandy soils. Season autumn. Occasional. Not edible. Found In Europe.
